Our Story
In 2022, Talia and Johannes started Cocopiña out of a quiet frustration.
The clothing that felt beautiful didn’t hold up to a real day. The clothing that worked for a full day wasn’t beautiful enough for the rest of life. Women kept being asked to choose — between how they wanted to feel and how they wanted to live. Talia and Johannes wanted to remove that choice entirely.
The first place that shaped what Cocopiña became was Thailand. It was the first international trip they took together as teenagers. For Johannes, who is half-Thai, it was a return to his roots in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. For Talia, it was a first introduction — to the warmth of the people, the colour of the markets, and the precision of the craftsmanship.
A later trip to India for a friend’s wedding became the second turning point. They extended the trip to spend time with the country’s textile traditions and the makers who carry them forward. Today, the majority of Cocopiña pieces are crafted in India — produced in small batches, in workshops we know, with the same dedication to quality and artistry that shaped the brand from the beginning.

Slow fashion is not a marketing word for us. It is how the brand is actually built.
We produce in small batches — so we make less, waste less, and stay close to every piece we put into the world. We work directly with artisans who are paid fairly and who work in safe environments we visit ourselves. We choose fabrics for how they perform and how they last, not for how they cost.
This is not a campaign. It is the standard everything is held to. A Cocopiña piece is made to be worn for years — and to still feel right, still hold up, and still belong in your wardrobe years from now.

The People Behind Cocopiña
Talia
Talia leads design and creative direction at Cocopiña. Talia designs every piece, art-directs every shoot, and writes most of what you read across the brand. Cocopiña was built around the woman Talia is — someone who wants to feel beautiful in the slow moments and capable in the active ones, without changing identities between them.
(Off duty: a serious advocate for French fries.)
Johannes
Johannes runs operations, production, and the work behind the scenes that keeps the brand moving. Johannes works directly with the artisans who make Cocopiña, oversees quality from sample to final stitch, and makes sure every piece reaches you exactly the way it was meant to.
Johannes is also the reason the half-Thai parts of Cocopiña’s story exist.
